The Town of Trinity Mayor and Council met at a regularly scheduled meeting in the Trinity Municipal Building with Mayor Vaughn Goodwin calling the meeting to order at 5:33 p.m.

 

Members present were Beth Burden, Brandi Logston, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Lainie Alexander, Jared Terry, and

Gordon Burden.

 

Motion made to approve the minutes of the Special Call Meeting April 1, 2025 by Jared with a 2nd by Gordon.  All voted yes. Lainie and Brandi abstained

 

Motion made to approve the bills in the amount of $37,503.57 by Beth with a 2nd by Lainie.  All voted yes.

 

Motion made to approve $76,126.22 to Morrow Water Technologies for Water System Improvement Updates ($54,922.84  to be reimbursed by Morgan County) by Gordon with a 2nd by Jared.  All voted yes.

 

Motion made to approve $9,169.00 to Southern Corrosion for annual tank maintenance agreement by Brandi with a 2nd by Lainie.  All voted yes.

 

Motion made to approve $50.00 to Alabama Municipal Revenue Officers of Alabama for annual dues for Nikki Jones and Ashley Patterson by Beth with a 2nd by Brandi .  All voted yes.

 

Motion made to approve $3551.52 for Vaughn Goodwin and Blaine Clark attending ARWA Conference May 19 2025- May 22, 2025  (2403.52 room/ $748 per diem /$400 registration)  by Gordon with a  2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.

 

Motion made to adopt Resolution 2025-08 Declaring 1999 Ford Ranger as surplus by Jared with a 2nd by Lainie.  Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Vaughn, Jared, Lainie, and Gordon.  Voting no were none.

 

Motion made to approve $1200.00 annual premium to AirMedCare for full-time employees benefit by Beth with a 2nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

 

Motion made to approve $11,000 to Holus Bolus for EMT training for police officers by Brandi with a 2nd by Lainie.  All voted yes.

 

Motion to adopt Resolution 2025-09 Acceptable Driving Record Policy as presented by Jared with a 2nd by Lainie.         Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Vaughn, Jared, Lainie, and Gordon.  Voting no were none.

 

Motion made to approve up to $6,600.00 for Chief Hughes to purchase 3 laptops for the police department for them to use in office and in their vehicles – Representative Yarbrough donated $6,600.00 to the police department for this purpose – by Jared with a 2nd by Gordon.  All voted yes.

 

Motion made to have Town Attorney, Larry Madison, draw up paperwork for the Town to sell the property located at 106 North Mountain Drive by Gordon with a 2nd by Jared.  All voted yes.

 

Mayor Goodwin took a moment to congratulate the West Morgan Varsity Boys Baseball team for winning the area championship and wish them luck in the upcoming playoffs.

 

Council member Jared Terry stated that upon completion of the EMT classes, the Police department would need at minimum 2 equipped medical bags and more equipment to serve the community.  Mayor Goodwin stated he would contact Senator Orr to see if he would be wiling to help cover the cost.

 

Copies of the park board minutes and bylaws were given to members of the council for review.  Council member Lainie Alexander stated that the park board meetings have been going well and the board has a wish list of items which include signage, parking, and nets among a few other items.  Mayor Goodwin asked Lainie to have them submit what they have to him so the Council could proceed.

Motion made to adjourn by Gordon with a 2nd by Lainie  at 5:56 p.m.  All voted yes.
