Trinity Town Council                                         Council Meeting                                                                 April 22, 2024

 

The Town of Trinity Mayor and Council met at a regularly scheduled meeting in the Trinity Municipal Building with Mayor Goodwin calling the meeting to order at 5:30.

 

Members present were Beth Burden, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Jared Terry, and Gordon Burden.  Absent were

Brandi Logston and Lainie Alexander.

 

Motion made to approve the minutes of the Work Session April 8, 2024 by Beth with a 2nd by Gordon.  Voting yes were Beth, Mayor Goodwin, and Gordon.  Jared abstained.

Motion made to approve the minutes of the Council Meeting April 8, 2024 by Beth with a 2nd by Gordon.  Voting yes were Beth, Mayor Goodwin, and Gordon.  Jared abstained.

Motion made to pay the attached bills in the amount of $ 26,290.97 by Jared with a 2nd by Gordon.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve $260.00 ($130.00 ea) for the Society of Water Professionals for a 2 year membership for both Vaughn & Blaine by Beth with a 2nd by Jared.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve or deny $350.00 ($175 ea) for Vaughn & Blaine to register for the AL/FL Joint Technical Training Conference by Jared with a 2nd by Gordon.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve $50.00 for Officer Terry – one year membership to the National Association of School Resource Officers by Gordon with a 2nd by Jared.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve $1,920.62 to Kamstrup for software, hosting, and support for water meter software by Jared with a 2nd by Gordon.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve $6,750.00 to GMC for construction documents and bidding for the pickleball courts by Jared with a 2nd by Beth. All voted yes.

Motion made to approve Maurice Taylor setting a food truck (Snack Time) at ballfield selling items that are not offered by the concession stand conditional upon Youth League approval by Jared with a 2nd by Beth.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve moving forward with Diamond Maps with the purchase of a handheld device (approximately $6,000.00) and yearly fee of $600.00 by Gordon with a 2nd by Jared.  All voted yes.

Motion made to reappoint Council Member Beth Burden to Morgan County Industrial Park Board by Jared with a 2nd by Gordon.   All voted yes.

-          All members present received a current copy of the Town’s Budget and will review next meeting

-          Council would like to begin accepting applications for a Public Safety Coordinator Position

Chief Hughes took a moment to recognize Investigator Parker for his hard work on a 6 month long investigation to recover ½ a million dollars’ worth of stolen property by an employee at a local business.  Mayor Goodwin also mentioned that he has been getting compliments of officers doing well.

Motion made to adjourn b Jared with a 2nd by Beth at 5:56 p.m.  All voted yes.
