Town of Trinity Special Call Minutes August 18, 2025
The Town of Trinity Mayor and Council met at a Special Called Meeting in the Trinity Municipal Building with the meeting being called to order at 9:30 by Mayor Goodwin.
Members present were Beth Burden, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Jared Terry, Lainie Alexander, and Gordon Burden. Absent was Brandi Logston.
Members present signed the waiver of notice.
Mayor Goodwin updated the Council that the Street Department Vehicle had stopped running while Justin Dunn was out trying to spray for mosquitos and he had to put it in 4- wheel drive to make it back to the shop, due to transmission issues. The equipment that is carried in the street department vehicle (mosquito sprayer & pesticide, animal control tools, etc.) cannot be co-mingled with water treatment equipment without an extensive decontamination process. Due to this, there is an emergency need to purchase a vehicle to be used for Street/Town purposes that will not be co-mingled with a water department vehicle. Mayor Goodwin has checked and dealerships are out 3 months on state bid requests.
Motion made to adopt Resolution 2025-27 Declaring an Emergency need to purchase a Town Street Truck by Jared with a 2nd by Lainie. Voting yes were Beth, Mayor Goodwin, Jared, Lainie, and Gordon. Voting no were none.
Motion made to purchase a 2025 GMC ¾ ton Double Cab truck with towing package for $50,900.00 from Bill Smith in Cullman by Gordon with a 2nd by Jared. All voted yes.
Mayor Goodwin stated that the malfunctioning truck would be declared surplus at the next meeting.
Motion to adjourn by Gordon with a 2nd by Jared at 9:36 p.m. All voted yes.
