Trinity Town Council Council Minutes August 25, 2025
The Town of Trinity Mayor and Council met at a regularly scheduled meeting in the Trinity Municipal Building with Mayor Vaughn Goodwin calling the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
Members present were Beth Burden, Brandi Logston, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Lainie Alexander, and Gordon
Burden. Absent was Jared Terry.
Motion made to approve the minutes of the Work Session August 11, 2025 by Lainie with a 2nd by Gordon. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve the minutes of the Council Meeting August 11, 2025 by Brandi with a 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve the minutes of the Special Call Council Meeting August 18, 2025 by Beth with a 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes. Brandi abstained
Motion made to approve the bills in the amount of $56,017.86 by Brandi with a 2nd by Gordon. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $1050.00 to the Alabama League of Municipalities for Council Members Lainie Alexander, Brandi Logston, and Jared Terry to attend CMO training in Huntsville November 5th & 6th by Gordon with a 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve Resolution 2025-28 Allowing the Mayor to sign kiosk agreement with Morgan County Commission by Beth with a 2nd by Brandi. Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, and Gordon. Voting no were none.
Motion made to approve Resolution 2025-29 Allowing the Mayor to sign engineering agreement with GMC for Kimbrel Park by Lainie with a 2nd by Gordon. Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, and Gordon. Voting no were none.
Motion made to approve Resolution 2025-30 Declaring Street Department 2008 Chevy Silverado as Surplus by Gordon with a 2nd by Brandi. Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, and Gordon. Voting no were none.
Motion made to approve Resolution 2025-31 allowing the Mayor to extend the contract with DU for an additional 10 year term by Lainie with a 2nd by Brandi. Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, and Gordon. Voting no were none.
Motion made to approve .50 cent raise for Officer Randy Denny due to completion of 90 day probation period (Police Department Probation is 9 months) by Beth with a 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve allowing Wright Towing to be added to the Town’s wrecker rotation contingent on the wrecker service passing Chief Hughes’ inspection by Brandi with a 2nd by Gordon. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $7,000.00 to Darrell Wates, CPA for completion of audit 9/30/2024 by Gordon with a 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes.
Motion made to set organizational meeting for November 3, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. by Brandi with a 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes.
Motion to approve a 2nd water leak adjustment for Troy Terry as presented by Beth with a 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $6200.00 to have 25 hydrants reconditioned and up to code by Gordon with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $11,600 to Quality Paving for resealing the parking lot at Town Hall by Gordon with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
All members present were given a copy of the proposed budget. Mayor Goodwin informed the council that accountants should be here beginning the week of October 20th to work on annual audit.
