The Town of Trinity Mayor and Council met at a regularly scheduled meeting in the Trinity Municipal Building with Mayor Goodwin calling the meeting to order at 5:31 p.m.

 

Members present were Beth Burden, Brandi Logston, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Lainie Alexander, Jared Terry, and

Gordon Burden.  Absent were none.

 

Motion made to approve the minutes from the work session the January 27, 2025 by Beth 2nd by Lainie.  All voted yes – Gordon and Jared abstained.

 

Motion made to approve the minutes from the council meeting January 27, 2025 by Brandi 2nd by Lainie.  All voted yes – Gordon and Jared abstained.

 

Motion made to approve the attached bills in the amount of $ 36,816.84 by Jared with a 2nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

Motion made to adopt Resolution 2025-02 Establishing a Recreation Board by Beth with a 2nd by Lainie.  Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, and Gordon.  Jared abstained.

Motion made to adopt Resolution 2025-03 Appointing initial Members to the Recreation Board by Beth with a 2nd by Lainie.  Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, and Gordon.  Jared abstained.

Motion made to take into immediate consideration Ordinance 2025-02 Providing for the Election of Municipal Officers by Jared with a 2nd by Brandi.  Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, Jared, and Gordon.  Voting no were none.

Motion made to adopt Ordinance 2025-02 Providing for the Election of Municipal Officers by Brandi with a 2nd by Jared.  Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, Jared, and Gordon.  Voting no were none.

Motion made to approve $1200.00 annual lease payment to Barry and Kathy Owens for pump station property by Beth with a 2nd by Lainie.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve a $1,977.71 refund to HDI Global Insurance Company for their amended return by Jared with a 2nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve $420.00 to Alabama 811 for annual membership by Brandi with a 2nd by Beth.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve allowing Chief Hughes to sign additional MOU with Morgan County Board of Education regarding the District Safety Coordinator by Jared with a 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes.

Motion made to approve $682.00 to AMIC for addition of pickleball courts and pavilion updates on Town Insurance policy by Jared with a 2nd by Beth.  All voted yes.

Motion to approve an in home occupation transfer for Eli Carle at 380 South Mountain Drive as Carle’s Care Care with the understanding that he would not be doing any mobile mechanic work in the city limits by Jared with a 2nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve an in-home occupation for Tia Hall at 60 Hidden Creek Drive as ABK Door Décor & More by Beth with a 2nd by Lainie.  All voted yes.

Motion made to set a public hearing March 10, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. to hear any and all in favor of or against changing minimum square footage in R-4 from 850 livable sq ft (heated) to 1000 livable sq ft (heated) by Jared with a 2nd by Gordon.  All voted yes.

Motion made to sign a maintenance contract with Stone Hedge for $4800.00 for maintenance and upkeep on Caboose and Kimbrel Park by Beth with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.

Motion made to go out for bids on a vacuum for the water department with the bids to be opened 3/24/25 at 4:30 p.m. by Gordon with a 2nd by Jared.  All voted yes.

** Reminders** 2025 Severe Weather Preparedness Tax Holiday February 21-23, 2025;  State of Morgan County – February 27th at 7:30;   Statement of Economic Interest due 4/30/2025; Annual Alabama League of Municipalities Convention – Huntsville May 13-16

 

Motion made to adjourn by Brandi with a 2nd by Lainie  at 5:44 p.m.  All voted yes.
