The Town of Trinity Mayor and Council met at a regularly scheduled meeting in the Trinity Municipal Building with Mayor Vaughn Goodwin calling the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m.

 

Members present were Beth Burden, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Jared Terry, and Gordon Burden.  Absent were

Brandi Logston and Lainie Alexander.

 

Motion made to approve the minutes from the work session February 10, 2025 by Beth 2nd by Jared.  All voted yes.

 

Motion made to approve the minutes from the council meeting February 10, 2025 by Gordon 2nd by Jared.  All voted yes.

 

Motion made to approve the attached bills in the amount of $ 19,082.96  by Gordon with a 2nd by Jared.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve $1350.00 to Shipley Excavating for infield dirt by Jared with a 2nd by Gordon.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve $525.00 for Jared Terry to attend the ALM conference being held in Huntsville ($450.00 registration, $75.00 per diem) by Beth with a 2nd by Gordon.  All voted yes.  Jared abstained.

Motion made to approve $1,000 sponsorship to the Community Free Clinic for the Sells & Tails event to be hosted Friday, May 2nd at 6:00 p.m. by Beth with a 2nd by Jared.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve $2041.99 to Pitney Bowes for postage and fees ($1000 water, $1000 town, $41.99 user fee) by Jared with a 2nd by Gordon.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve $1100.00 to David Eddy Trucking for 2 loads of sand for roads by Gordon with a 2nd by Jared.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve $1,820.36 to Pro Align for work done on Water Service Truck front end by Jared with a 2nd by Gordon.  All voted yes.

Motion made to give Braden Lovinggood at 108 Mountain Home Road an additional water adjustment due to a leak that carried into two billing cycles by Gordon with a 2nd by Jared.  All voted yes.

Motion made to allow Mayor Goodwin to begin negotiations with GMC for Engineering services by Gordon with a 2nd by Jared.  All voted yes.

Motion to give $5000.00 to the Recreation Board to allow establishment of their bank account by Beth with a 2nd by Gordon.  All voted yes.

Mayor Goodwin informed the Council that he had met with Southern Corrosion about possibly taking over maintenance on the water tank.  Also, the CD at Renasant will be maturing next month. 

** Reminders** State of Morgan County – February 27th at 7:30;   Public Hearing -  March 10, 2025;  Statement of Economic Interest due 4/30/2025; Annual Alabama League of Municipalities Convention – Huntsville May 13-16

Motion made to adjourn by Jared with a 2nd by Gordon at 5:50 p.m.  All voted yes.
