Trinity Town Council Council Minutes January 13, 2025
The Town of Trinity Mayor and Council met at a regularly scheduled meeting in the Trinity Municipal Building with Mayor Vaughn Goodwin calling the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
Members present were Beth Burden, Brandi Logston, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Lainie Alexander, Jared Terry, and
Gordon Burden. Absent were none.
Motion made to approve the minutes from the work session the December 9, 2024 by Jared 2nd by Gordon. All voted yes. Brandi and Lainie abstained.

Motion made to approve the attached bills in the amount of $49,447.34 by Brandi with a 2nd by Beth. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $1,571.08 to National Safety Council for Driving School supplies by Jared with a 2nd by Gordon. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $190.00 for a 5 year membership to the National Association of State Agencies for Surplus Property by Lainie with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $2,666.00 to LeadsOnline for annual renewal of the TotalTrack Investigation System Service Package by Beth with a 2nd by Jared. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $720.00 to Alabama Administrative Office of Courts for annual conference registration to receive mandatory credit hours for Nikki Jones, Ashley Patterson, and Heather Hood ($240.00 each) by Brandi with a 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $100.00 to Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police for Chief Hughes’ annual membership (correction from last meeting – the $200.00 was for winter conference registration not annual membership) by Jared with a 2nd by Gordon. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve allowing Cedric Jeffrey to rollover 40 hours into his RSA-1 account by Brandi with a 2nd by Beth. All voted yes.
Motion made to adopt Resolution 2025-01 Water Rate Increase by Brandi with a 2nd by Jared. Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, Jared, and Gordon. Voting no were none.
Motion made to adopt the 2025 Transportation Plan Budget by Jared with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion made to take into immediate consideration Ordinance 2025-01 Establishing Mayor and Council Salaries by Jared with a 2nd by Lainie. Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, Jared, and Gordon. Voting no were none.
Motion made to adopt Ordinance 2025-01 Establishing Mayor and Council Salaries by Jared with a 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve or deny $22,938.00 to Municipal Workers Compensation Fund, Inc. for Annual Renewal Billing by Brandi with a 2nd by Jared. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $9,605.00 to BCA to close out pickleball project by Lainie with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve the Town paying $2624.46 ($55 drug test, $1951.46 ER visit, $618.00 physician fee) for Justin Dunn smoke inhalation incident 11/30/24 in lieu of workman’s comp claim by Jared with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion to approve $49,667.58 to Garver for work on ATRIP II project by Gordon with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $13621.19 to ARDURRA for water system improvements project by Jared with a 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $9,000.00 to Darrell Wates, CPA for work on the audit by Lainie with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $4,000.00 to Greg Fender to assist with the Franchise Agreement between the Town and Charter Communications (the fee also includes the cost of an audit) by Jared with a 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve raising Prosecutor Maggie Witt’s pay to $250.00 per trial docket and $200.00 per hour of office work by Jared with a 2nd by Gordon. All voted yes.
Mayor Goodwin made the Council aware that he would be signing a Proclamation declaring January Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Month.
Council Member Lainie Alexander stated the park board potential members would be meeting January 26th at 1:30.
