Trinity Town Council Council Minutes January 27, 2025
The Town of Trinity Mayor and Council met at a regularly scheduled meeting in the Trinity Municipal Building with Mayor Vaughn Goodwin calling the meeting to order at 5:31 p.m.
Members present were Beth Burden, Brandi Logston, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, and Lainie Alexander. Absent were Jared Terry and Gordon Burden.
Motion made to approve the minutes from the work session the January 13, 2025 by Lainie 2nd by Beth. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve the minutes from the council meeting January 13, 2025 by Brandi 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve the attached bills in the amount of $29,219.33 by Beth with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve hiring Marcus Miller to the police department at $22.00 per hour with a 9 month probation period by Beth with a 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve the fire department purchasing a 2025 CANAM Defender ProXT with fire department funds in the amount of $22,699.00 by Lainie with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $87,092.50 to Truist for the annual interest payment by Brandi with a 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $ 10,500.00 to Ferguson waterworks for the purchase of 50 ¾” meters by Beth with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve Cedric Jeffrey attending Field Training Officer Course at $320.00 ($150.00 registration and $170 per diem) by Lainie with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve Matthew Namie attending Handgun/Shotgun Instructor Training at $1076.00 ($745.00 tuition, $25.00 range fee, and $306.00 per diem) by Beth with a 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve Robert Todd attending Basic School Resource Officer Training by NASRO at $1806.00 ($500.00 registration, $1000.00 lodging, and $306.00 per diem) contingent on the Morgan County Board of Education not paying all or half of the costs by Brandi with a 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes.
Motion to readjust prosecutor Maggie Witt’s pay to $600.00 per month flat rate and $150.00 per hour out of court fee by Beth with a 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes.
Motion to move the $100,000 CD currently at CB&S Bank into the Regions General Fund once it matures by Beth with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion to approve allowing Cody Michael to sign a letter stating his intent to consolidate property located at 372 South Mountain Drive to be in compliance with the Zoning Ordinance by Lainie with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
