The Town of Trinity Mayor and Council met at a regularly scheduled meeting with Mayor Vaughn Goodwin calling the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

 

Members present were: Beth Burden, Brandi Logston, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, and Gordon Burden.  Absent were

Lainie Alexander and Jared Terry.

 

Motion made to table approving the minutes of the Work Session May 28, 2024 by Brandi with a 2nd by Gordon.  All voted yes.

Motion made to table approving the minutes of the Council Meeting May 28, 2024 by Brandi with a 2nd by Gordon.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve the attached bills in the amount of $41,501.54  by Brandi with a 2nd by Gordon.  All voted yes.

Motion made  to take into immediate consideration Ordinance 2024-08 Amending the Employee Handbook to include a Safety Policy by Beth with a 2nd by Brandi.  Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Vaughn, and Gordon.  Voting no were none.

Motion made to adopt Ordinance 2024-08 Amending the Employee Handbook to include Trinity’s Safety Policy by Beth with a 2nd by Brandi.  Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Vaughn, and Gordon. Voting no were none.

Motion made to approve or deny allowing Mayor Goodwin to sign a contract with SRO Chris Proctor for the 2024-2025 school year by Gordon with a 2nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve or deny allowing Mayor Goodwin to sign a contract with SRO Donald Terry for the 2024-2025 school year by Gordon with a 2nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve or deny accepting the bid for $218,465.00 from Morrow Water for the Water System Improvements Project by Gordon with a 2nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.  (Bids listed below)

Motion made to approve an in-home occupation for Jessica Cary at 44 Natchez Trace (Avery Kate Boutique) as recommended by the Planning Commission by Beth with a 2nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve an in-home occupation for Trenton Smith at 185 North Greenway Drive (Cottonwood Building Company, LLC) as recommended by the Planning Commission by Brandi with a 2nd by Gordon.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve paying an annual $75 membership for each employee to the AirMedCare network as an additional employee benefit by Beth with a 2nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

Motion made to adopt Resolution 2024-05 allowing Mayor Goodwin to enter into a 5 year contract with Utility Service Co, Inc for maintenance of the Water Tank at $9,584.00 per year by Gordon with a 2nd by Brandi.  Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Vaughn, and Gordon.  Voting no were none.

Motion made to approve the Advanced EMT course to be hosted at the Fire Department/Town Hall at no charge to the Town by Beth with a 2nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

Motion to approve $8920.00 to Stonehedge Nursery for landscaping to be done at Caboose Park by Gordon with a 2nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

Motion to approve a $500.00 sponsorship to the Community Free Clinic for the Spirit of America 5K by Beth with a 2nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

Chief Hughes gave an update after attending the TAZRO conference for SRO’s and stated that the program and conference were great and informative.

Mayor Goodwin informed the Council that he would be taking the current city limits and zoning maps to MPO for updates and would have those back soon, and that in the near future the Town may be working with NARCOG to update the comprehensive plan.
