Town of Trinity Council Minutes September 9, 2024
The Town of Trinity Mayor and Council met at a regularly scheduled meeting in the Trinity Municipal Building with Mayor Vaughn Goodwin opening the meeting at 5:30 p.m.
Members present were Beth Burden, Brandi Logston , Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Jared Terry, and Gordon Burden.
Absent was Lainie Alexander.
Motion made to approve the minutes from the Work Session August 26, 2024 by Jared 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve the minutes from the Council Meeting August 26, 2024 by Beth 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve the attached bills in the amount of $34,140.53 by Jared with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion to approve an in-home occupation for Jeremy Watson (Tap Rack Ready Gunsmithing) at 377 North Greenway Drive as recommended by Planning Commission by Jared with a 2nd by Gordon. All voted yes.
*Approval is contingent upon Mr. Watson obtaining his FFL license within 6 months
Motion made to approve $5654.00 to Local Government Corporation for annual support for Business License, Permit Software, and LaserJet printer by Brandi with a 2nd by Beth. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve a transfer of $60,000 from the Municipal Fund to the General Fund by Brandi with a 2nd by Jared. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $656.00 to the University of North Alabama for Ashley Patterson to attend Certified Alabama Planning & Zoning Official Certification classes by Beth with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $3,603.48 to GMC for engineering fees associated with the pickleball court project by Jared with a 2nd by Gordon. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve Resolution 2024-15 2024-2025 Budget with income budgeted of $4,001,020 and expenditures of $3,231,247.87 giving full time employees a $1.00/hr raise and part time employees a .50/hr raise by Jared with a 2nd by Brandi. Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Jared, and Gordon. Voting no were none.
Motion made to approve $94,297.75 to Building Construction Associates for work on the pickleball project by Jared with a 2nd by Gordon. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $12,500.00 to TNT for demolition of 106 North Mountain Drive by Jared with a 2nd by Gordon. All voted yes.
Mayor Goodwin informed the Council that paving was being done by the County in the area and he would look into the cost of paving Old Trinity road.
