The Town of Trinity Mayor and Council met at a special called meeting January 22, 2024 at the Trinity Municipal Building with the meeting being called to order at 5:30 by Mayor Vaughn Goodwin.. Members present were Beth Burden, Brandi Logston, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Lainie Alexander, Jared Terry, and Gordon Burden. Absent were none.
Motion made to approve the minutes of the Work Session January 8, 2024 by Beth with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve the minutes of the Council Meeting January 8, 2024 by Jared with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion made to pay the attached bills in the amount of $ 19922.16 by Jared with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $14,973.02 of grant funding from the county to ARDURRA for engineering services for Water System improvements by Lainie with a 2nd by Beth. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $2588.00 renewal to LeadsOnline for the Police Department by Jared with a 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $60.00 to Alabama Tactical Officer’s Association for Officer Garret & Officer Martin’s membership dues ($30 each) by Brandi with a 2nd by Beth. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $ 198.00 to Jackson State University for Chief Hughes to attend 2024 CLEEP classes by Jared with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $793.08 to Decatur Electronics for bed cover and installation for 401’s vehicle by Jared with 2nd by Lanie. All voted yes.
Motion made to approve $635.00 ($400.00 tuition, $235 per diem) for Officer Garret to attend the ATOA Conference 3/18-3/22) by Jared with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion mad to approve paying $87,356.00 annual payment for sewer and water to Truist by Jared with a 2nd by Lainie. All voted yes.
Motion to pay $8875.00 to 120 water for services related to the lead and copper survey by Beth with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Motion to approve $1120.00 to purchase a work station desk top for the pd by Brandi with a 2nd by Jared. All voted yes.
Motion to approve $18,000 to GMC for documentation, testing and bidding on the pickleball court project for 3 courts by Beth with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.
Mayor Goodwin informed the council that he had signed the Proclamation to name January as Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Also, that Mayor Goodwin had met with Black McAnally with Pugh Wright about a possible subdivision to be located in front of West Morgan Elementary School. The projected subdivision would have 500 lots available with homes ranging from 1400-2000 square feet. If this project does begin the Town would need to find another engineer since Pugh Wright is working on behalf of their client.
Motion made to adjourn at 5:57 by Brandi with a 2nd by Beth. All voted yes.
