Trinity Town Council                                         Organizational Meeting Minutes                     November 3, 2025

 

The Town of Trinity Mayor and Council met for their scheduled Organizational Meeting in the Trinity Municipal Building with Town Clerk, Ashley Patterson, calling the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

 

Members present were Beth Burden, Brandi Logston, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Lainie Alexander, Jared Terry, and

Gordon Burden.  Absent were none.

 

Oaths of Office were administered by Ashley Patterson, Town Clerk for the following:

 

-          Mayor Vaughn Goodwin

-          Jared Terry, Council Place 1

-          Gordon Burden, Council Place 2

-          Brandi Logston, Council Place 3

-          Beth Burden, Council Place 4

-          Elizabeth “Lainie” Alexander, Council Place 5

 

Ashley then turned the meeting over to Mayor Vaughn Goodwin

 

Motion made to approve Resolution 2025-38 Designation of Bank Depositories by Beth with a 2^nd by Jared.   Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, Jared, and Gordon.  Voting no were none.

 

Motion made to approve Resolution 2025-39 Election of Lainie Alexander as Mayor Tempore by Jared with a 2^nd by Brandi.  Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, Jared, and Gordon.  Voting no were none.

 

Motion made to approve Resolution 2025-40 Appointing Town Clerk – Ashley Patterson, Police Chief – Randy Hughes, Building Inspector – Gary Bayne, and Fire Chief – Bill Pettey by Beth with a 2^nd by Lainie.  Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, Jared, and Gordon.  Voting no were none.

 

Motion made to approve Resolution 2025-41 Appointing Municipal Judge – Wayne Alexander, Jr., Town Attorney – Larry Madison, Public Defender – Maggie Coan Witt, Indigent Defender – Ken Shelton, Jr., and Accounting Firm – Wates Accounting by Lainie with a 2^nd by Brandi.  Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, Jared, and Gordon.  Voting no were none.

 

Motion made to approve Resolution 2025-42 Appointing Water Superintendent – Mayor Vaughn Goodwin by Brandi with a 2^nd by Beth.  Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Lainie, Jared, and Gordon.  Voting no were none.  Mayor Goodwin abstained.

 

Motion to approve Resolution 2025-43 Adopting Rules of Procedure for Council by Jared with a 2^nd by Lainie.  Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, Jared, and Gordon.  Voting no were none.

 

Motion made to approve all administrative officers and employees continue their respective duties temporarily until the regular November 10^th Council Meeting, the Council will then make permanent appointments by Brandi with a 2^nd by Lainie.  All voted yes.

 

Motion made to approve the Committee Appointments as follows, by Lainie with a 2^nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

Motion made to appoint Gordon Burden as the Council Representative to serve on the Planning Commission by Jared with a  2^nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

 

Motion made to appoint Jared Terry as the Council Representative on the Park Board by Brandi with a 2^nd by Beth.  All voted yes.

 

Motion made to adjourn by Jared with a 2^nd by Lainie at 5:12 p.m.  All voted yes.
