The Town of Trinity Mayor and Council met at a special called public hearing in the Trinity Municipal Building with Mayor Goodwin calling the hearing to order at 5:30 p.m.

 

Members present were Beth Burden, Brandi Logston, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin , Lainie Alexander  and Gordon

Burden.  Absent was Jared Terry.

 

Mayor Goodwin opened the hearing by stating:

 

“The purpose of this public hearing is to allow an opportunity for anyone wishing to comment on the condition of the  property located at 106 North Mountain Drive”

 

Roger Tribbett of 14 Olivia Drive (neighboring property) spoke of his concerns about the safety of the structure and how he plans to sell his home within the next year and is concerned what the nuisance is doing to his property value. He is also concerned because he has noticed occasional traffic in and out of the structure.

 

Jim Boyd of 146 North Mountain Drive stated the nuisance is an eye sore and a safety issue.  He mentioned there is a sizeable hole in the roof of the building and he would love to see it gone.

 

Mayor Goodwin closed the hearing at 5:30 p.m.

The Town of Trinity Mayor and Council met at a regularly scheduled meeting in the Trinity Municipal Building with Mayor Goodwin calling the meeting to order at 5:33 p.m.

 

Members present were Beth Burden, Brandi Logston, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Lainie Alexander, and Gordon

Burden.

 

Motion made to approve the minutes from the Work Session July 22, 2024 by Beth 2nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

 

Motion made to approve the minutes from the Council Meeting July 22, 2024 by Gordon 2nd by Lainie.  All voted yes.

 

Motion made to approve the minutes from the Special Call Meeting July 29, 2024 by Lainie 2nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

 

Motion made to approve the attached bills in the amount of $ 52,853.89  by Beth with a 2nd by Lainie.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve $1000.00 appropriation to the WM Football Team as a scoreboard sponsor by Brandi with a 2nd by Gordon.  All voted yes.

Motion made to approve $60.00 to Tennessee Valley Media, Inc. for the 2024 West Morgan Homecoming ad by Gordon with a 2nd by Brandi.  All voted yes.

Motion made to adopt Resolution 2024-10 Annual Transportation Plan 2024-2025 as required by the Rebuild AL act by Gordon with a 2nd by Lainie.  Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, and Gordon.  Voting no were none.

 

Motion made to accept the resignation of School Resource Officer Charles Hamby by Gordon with a 2nd by Lainie.  All voted yes.

Motion made to accept the resignation of Sgt. Markus Solomon by Gordon with a 2nd by Lainie . All voted yes.

Motion made to approve payment of $120,759.25 to Building Construction Associates for the construction on the pickleball courts by Beth with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.

Motion made to adopt Resolution 2024-11 allowing the Town Clerk to sign a 5 year contract with RJ Young for copy machines and services by Brandi with a 2nd by Gordon.  Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, and Gordon.  Voting no were none.

Motion made to adopt Resolution 2024-12 allowing Mayor Goodwin to sign a one year contract with Morgan County 911 for dispatch services by Gordon with a 2nd by Lainie.  Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, and Gordon.  Voting no were none.

Motion made to adopt Resolution 2024-13 declaring the 2013 Ford Explorer as surplus by Brandi with a 2nd by Beth.  Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, and Gordon.  Voting no were none.

Motion made to adopt Resolution 2024-14 abatement of 106 North Mountain Drive by Beth with a 2nd by Lainie.  Voting yes were Beth, Brandi, Mayor Goodwin, Lainie, and Gordon.  Voting no were none.

Motion made allowing Mayor Goodwin to bid out bank accounts by Gordon with a 2nd by Brandi. All voted yes.

Motion made to approve $21, 911.71 for the the purchase of a 4 count ornament stack and Merry Christmas marquee from Jubilee Décor by Beth with a 2nd by Lainie.  All voted yes.

Members present were given a copy of the financial figures in preparation of the budget.

Motion made to adjourn by Brandi with a 2nd by Lainie  at 5:42 p.m.  All voted yes.
